Luther K. Brooks is a native North Carolinian, born and educated in Hillsborough, North Carolina where he resides with his wife, Kimberly. They have three children. He attended Kittrell College and is the son of Catherine Watkins Brooks and the late Reverend Luther A. Brooks. Under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Reverend Brooks has served in many leadership positions including the Former Moderator of the New Home and Durham Missionary Baptist Association. He has most recently been appointed as the District Director of the newly formed Central District for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International of North Carolina. He has served as Pastor of Saint James Baptist Church, Inc. for the past 17 years. Beyond this position, he established and serves as CEO of Visions of Tomorrow Community Development Corporation & president of the Walltown Neighborhood Ministries, pioneering programs to enhance and advance the lifestyle of his flock and the members of the surrounding community In partnering with like-minded entities, Pastor Brooks has promoted the holistic approach of addressing the needs of the people that have been assigned to him. He has boldly taken “The Word” to the streets by initiating outreach ministries to touch those who are confused and hurting. Not just those names that appear on his congregation’s role but everyone he meets. Pastor Brooks has a heart for the downtrodden and outcast, his desire is to offer those souls who are lost a way to survive and realize that there is a better life for them in Christ Jesus. As he declares with enthusiasm “ O Taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him."-- Psalm 34:8 Chosen to bring about a positive change to those who would hear what thus saith the Lord; Pastor Brooks’ greatest desire is to preach the authentic Gospel of Jesus Christ. God said that man should have a help-meet, and that is exactly what First Lady Kim is. She shares her husband's vision regarding the holistic approach to meeting the needs of those in the church as well as the surrounding community. Joining in with her husband in promoting & spearheading innovative community projects, edifying conference participation, instructive marriage counseling and personal spiritual growth, she is diligent and committed to the advancement of the kingdom of God.
